Paul Brennan is an entrepreneur and billionaire from Carrigstown, Ireland. He was born on 13th February 1963. Paul has had many children across several marriages. Some of his children include Ruth Brennan, Rachel Brennan, Oisín Brennan and Callum Black.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Paul was born Paul Patrick Brennan on 13th February 1963. He attended a private college in Dublin, Ireland before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce from Trinity College, Dublin. He represented Dublin at a minor level in both Hurling and Gaelic football. He was once described by his hurling coach as "gifted with the stick beyond what was credible at the time". Paul also played squash at a regional level, and holds a Krav Maga black belt. Despite his successes, Paul chose not to pursue a sporting career due to his greater interests in the business world.

Paul has been a lifelong Aston Villa supporter and was involved in a reported attempt to takeover the club in April 2018, before being eventually outbidded by Egyptian outfit NSWE Group.

Business Ventures[edit | edit source]

Brennan Investment Group[edit | edit source]

Paul made his first investments on the stock market from the tender age of 17, where he generated stock prediction models which could earn a Return on Investment (ROI) of 17.3%. At the age of 19 he started trading under Brennan Investment Group Ltd. where he built a large investment portfolio across Eastern Europe. By 1989 Brennan Investment Group owned over 5% of properties in Dublin. The company controversially went bankrupt due to a dividend somewhere in the region of €1 billion being paid to shareholders.

The company is currently being investigated by the Criminal Assets Bureau after claims that it was used to launder money for local criminals such as Billy Meehan, Seamus McAleer and Cathal Spillane. These allegations were dismissed by Paul who claims they were created by jealous people like Wayne Molloy and that it was all part of a Carrigstown Agenda against the Brennan Clan.

Vino's[edit | edit source]

Vino's was originally opened as a family-run Italian café but was purchased by Paul Brennan in 2013 for an undisclosed fee (thought to be in the region of €1.3m). Paul runs the café like a sweatshop.

Brennan's Bread[edit | edit source]

Paul is a minority shareholder in Irish bread manufacturer Brennan's Bread. He inherited a large portion of the shares when the company's directors mistook him for the son of the company's founder, Joseph Brennan.

The Garage[edit | edit source]

The Carrigstown garage, now known as Wayne's Wheels, fell into Paul's hands following his clever manipulation of Wayne Molloy. Paul later sold the garage back to Wayne at an extortionate rate.

Property[edit | edit source]

Paul owns several properties across Carrigstown. He also managed Barry O'Hanlon's property portfolio while he was serving a lengthy prison sentence for murder. Paul withheld a large portion of his rent. It is also believed that Paul owns several properties across Europe, including a villa in Spain in which many of the Bishop family are currently in hiding.

Horse Racing[edit | edit source]

Paul owns several high-profile racehorses, both directly and as part of syndicates with other wealthy Irish businessman (including Seamus McAleer). Due to his part-ownership of racehorse Annie Power during Black Tuesday 2015, Paul is legally not allowed to be involved in the horse racing industry until the subsequent legal investigations are concluded. Paul has strong ties with trainer Gordon Elliott; the pair having collaborated on several philanthropical efforts.

Recession[edit | edit source]

During the recession, Paul Brennan's empire continued to grow. He shrewdly purchased hundreds of properties across Dublin at all-time low prices. However, in 2011 he was issued a fine of €5.6 billion by the European Court of Justice who ruled that he owed unpaid taxes and issued him with further penalties for monopolizing the Dublin housing market. It was later discovered that the Irish government had struck a deal with Paul Brennan to alleviate his taxes in exchange for him making his Dublin properties available to help solve the Irish housing crisis. Paul had been essentially holding the government to ransom and by 2011 he owned approximately 12.5% of properties in Dublin, the majority of which were empty due to his extortionately high rent rates. These fines forced Paul Brennan to file for bankruptcy. His sons Oisin Brennan and Callum Black still managed to withhold the majority of his fortune. Paul started trading again in 2012, receiving funding to the tune of €2 billion from his sons.

Covid 19[edit | edit source]

During the outbreak of Coronavirus in Carrigstown in 2020, Paul Brennan sold Hand Sanitizer and Surgical Masks door to door to the people of the town. His prices were largely met with criticism. It is believed that a 200ml bottle of hand sanitizer was sold to Cass Cassidy for in the region of 70 EUR.

Politics[edit | edit source]

Paul Brennan finances The Proud Boys of Carrigstown — A local branch of the wider *Proud Boys* movement. His son Oisin Brennan is responsible for most of the groups' outreach; including plans for running a candidate in future local elections.

In the early 2000s, RTÉ ran a Prime Time special which exposed the Brennan Clan for donating large sums of money to Fianna Fáil. The show subsequently made baseless accusations — Such as likening the payments to bribes for favourable planning permission. RTÉ were taken to court by the family and reached an out of court settlement for an undisclosed figure.

Biopic[edit | edit source]

Famed film director David Fincher expressed an interest in directing a Paul Brennan: The Rags to Riches Rise of a Billionaire biopic.
