Barry O'Hanlon is a highly accomplished rogue Accountant, with acclaimed local Accountant Dermot Fahy once lauding praise on the former, suggesting he could cook the books in a way that could make even the most struggling businesses appear to be highly profitable. He has successfully swindled billionaire property tycoon Paul Brennan out of a substantial sum of money, with help from Fiona Piggott.

The diagram shows the structure designed by O'Hanlon which continues to be held up as the state-of-the-art in tax evasion.

The Double O'Hanlon Dutch Sandwich[edit | edit source]

As a young accountant during the Celtic Tiger, O'Hanlon demonstrated a remarkable aptitude to help rich people funnel their money into the country. It is thought that property tycoon Seamus McAleer was the first person to avail of O'Hanlon's mass tax evasion assistance schemes. McAleer, in his memoirs described a young O'Hanlon as "a roguish young lad with an eye for bookkeeping who was not afraid to take a few risks". Through McAleers mentorship, and years of perfecting his schemes, O'Hanlon eventually designed The Double O'Hanlon Dutch Sandwich, a sophisticated structure involving holding and shell companies across 5 different jurisdictions. It would come to be regarded as the state-of-the-art in global tax evasion structures and attract international attention for O'Hanlon.
