Wayne Molloy is the husband of Orla Kirwan. He was at the center of The Orla and Wayne Surrogate Fiasco 2019 scandal.

He is regarded by most as the most pathetic character in Carrigstown, and will often fall for the latest scam/business proposition that will line the pockets of the elites such as Paul Brennan, and further damage his own financial and mental well-being.

Wayne has famously taken out a total of 8 mortgages, none of which were ever paid off. Owing an eternal debt to various banks, Wayne has been known to do odd jobs for bankers in return for slightly more lenient repayments.

Wayne's repeated misfortune has led to a superstition within the wider Carrigstown community being named in his honour. This is known as Wayne's Law.

Murder of Kerry-Ann Bishop[edit | edit source]

Wayne became main suspect over The Murder of Kerry-Ann Bishop after admitting to killing Kerry-Ann Bishop. However this admission was quickly dismissed by detectives John Deegan and Steve Yates. CCTV footage of the interview shows the two detectives in tears laughing at Wayne with Yates replying "If you're a murderer then I'm Mother Theresa".

Scamming Spree[edit | edit source]

Scamming His Mother[edit | edit source]

Following Paul Brennan swindling Wayne's fortune, Wayne reached all-time lows. In an attempt to be more like Paul, he decided to empty the bank account of his mother, Dolores Molloy. Pete Ferguson later knocked some sense into Wayne.

Sperm Scam[edit | edit source]

Wayne has consistently fallen for scams over the years. He is always looking for a way to make a quick buck. He scammed Tommy Dillon out of his valuable fertile sperm and sold it to Sash Bishop for €10,000 with the promise that the child would provide a blood transfusion to Wayne's son, Junior Molloy. However, in line with Wayne's Law, Sash subsequently refused to give the blood to Wayne unless he refunded her the initial sum of cash. She further extorted Wayne to pay for various lesbian expenses. See The Orla and Wayne Surrogate Fiasco 2019.

Covid-19[edit | edit source]

Wayne was among the first cases of Covid-19 reported in Ireland and the first case of infection stemming from a community transmission. With his brittle lungs, Wayne has still not recovered from the infection. Furthermore, Wayne was not entitled to any Covid-19 benefits despite having to close his business and having little to no savings. Pete Ferguson once noted during a pinting session at McCoys, that Wayne was actually entitled to the benefits but had in error assumed that official documents like this would not require a stamp when being sent, and as such Wayne assumed when he received no reply that he was not entitled to such benefits. Pete claimed he was withholding this information from Wayne until the pandemic finished in order to score points with Dolores Molloy, Wayne's mother, and cement the fact that her fortune is better handled in Pete's sturdy hands.
