Melanie Petrosian is a perpetually stressed, moody snob with no money that has found herself stranded in Carrigstown, Ireland. She is originally from Armenia although her immigration status is under dispute after evidence provided to the police by none other than famed internet troll Oisin Brennan. Oisín maintains that there is no evidence that she is non-Irish, believing her to have been born and bred in Laois. He claims that her Armenian heritage was completely fabricated by Bob Charles.

She is in an interracial relationship with Mondo O'Connell, which is not thought to be authentic, but rather a product of the Carrigstown Agenda. She can often be seen running around the streets of Carrigstown, with a coffee cup in one hand and Paul Brennan's child in another, as she attempts to navigate her perpetual state of stress and multi-task three full-time jobs while raising her son, deadbeat DJ Alex Petrosian.

Covid 19[edit | edit source]

Melanie was the subject of racial stereotyping and abuse during the COVID-19 pandemic during which unemployment rates skyrocketed. She was partially blamed for this, seeing as she was currently holding down 7 jobs within the community.

Homeless[edit | edit source]

Melanie cycles between being homeless and bunking up with her latest love interest. It has been suggested that Melanie has enough money to pay rent but due to her frugal upbringings she cannot bring herself to part with such a large amount of money. For this reason, Melanie regularly dates men who have enough space in their home to accommodate herself, her deadbeat son Alex Petrosian and their disabled rescue dog.

In the past Melanie has rented her own property but due to her habit of paying the initial deposit and missing subsequent rent payments she has difficulties obtaining any reference letters. Threshold, a charity protecting tenants' rights, was at one point offering her assistance with her situation before they blocked her from accessing their services. When approached for comment by her son Alex, the charity informed him that Melanie is compulsively homeless.
