Wayne's Law

Wayne's Law is a local Carrigstown superstition. It states that if anything is about to go wrong, and you try to stop it, it will only make things worse. This law is named after Wayne Molloy, whose misfortune is well documented.

Wayne received his life on a silver platter. He had a garage, his mother Dolores Molloy was well established within the community and he lived a comfortable upbringing. Things started to go awry when it came time for Wayne to make decisions for himself. He lost his business to cunning property tycoon Paul Brennan, who completely outclasses Wayne at every opportunity. Wayne attempted to stop Paul from getting his company, and in doing so, signed it over to Paul entirely.

It is a known fact within Carrigstown that Wayne is infertile. Upon him discovering this, he spoke with some close friends in confidence. He then attempted to stop them from telling anyone else but in no time the whole town was aware of his predicament. His girlfriend Orla miraculously became pregnant. It seemed as if Wayne's fortune was turning around. He decided to see his IVF options to see if they could perhaps birth a second child, only to discover Orla had been badly mistaken. She had completely forgotten that resident stud Tommy Dillon had railed her months before. Wayne's wife had now joined The Tommy Dillon Club. Wayne attempted to prevent his mother from being scammed by trusting her money with a con artist. Doug Ferguson is the only other person in Carrigstown which it is thought that this rule applies to.

Another notable example of Wayne's Law is the events of Black Tuesday 2015 in which Wayne lost all of Dolores Molloy's life savings.
